Your next task will be to add an image to your home page. Follow the steps below to add an image to your page.A green dinosaur (Mozilla is his name) should appear to the left of the heading on your home page.
- Click the mouse to the left of the "W" in Welcome in your heading. (This should place the cursor just before the "W")
- Click on Insert from the menu bar
- Select Image...
- For Image file name, type: http://www.wpi.edu/Help/Gold/Images/mzdraw.gif
Note: If you wanted to insert an image that you have saved on disk, you could click the Browse... button and then select the file from your disk that you wished to place on your page.
- In the box marked text, type: [Pic of Green Guy]
- Under Alignment, click on the second button in from the left (where the text is aligned to the middle of the picture)
- Make sure that Copy image to the document's location is not checked
- Click OK
Save your work at this time, and publish the document. This time, the include files option (under publish) will be selectable. Make sure that Images in the document is selected and the file mzdraw.gif is in the white box and highlighted (press select all if it is not highlighted). If the filename, mzdraw.gif, is not in the white box, you didn't properly add the image to your page. You may wish to try the above steps again to add the image. Once the image is selected, enter your server, username, and password in the appropriate places (like you did last time) and click OK. Click here for Step 6 movie Back to Index Page
