Netscape Navigator Gold Web Page Editor Tutorial ![]()
Your next task will be to create an ordered and an unordered list. An ordered list is one in which the items are numbers. An unordered list is one in which the items have bullets (black dots) in front of them, and are not numbered. You will begin by opening up your index.html file that you created in the previous tutorial (if it is not already open). After the file is open, click at the end of the line that reads "Visit the WPI Homepage." Your cursor should appear at the end of that line. Now press return and type "Whenever I am driving in and around Worcester, I always see the same 3 types of cars on the road. Everywhere I look, I see:" and press return once more. Next, click on the first button on the bottom button bar (the 3-item bulleted list).
A black bullet should appear on the next new line. Now, type the following 3 list items, pressing return after each one: "Chevettes", "Saturns", "Neons". When you press return after the third and final list item, another bullet will appear. To get rid of it, click on the first button on the bottom button bar once more. This will remove the bullet. When the bullet is removed, your cursor will appear on a new line. On the new line, type: "Why are these types of cars so popular when Buyer's Anonymous rated American cars the following way?" Now press return, and press the second button on the bottom button bar (the 3-item numbered list).
Two pound signs (##) should appear on a new line. Now, type the following list items, pressing return after each one: "Pontiac Bonneville", "Chevy Caprice Classic Wagon", "Chevy Chevelle", "Chrysler LaBaron", "Dodge Dakota", "Chevy Chevette", "GM Saturn", "Dodge Eagle Talon", "Plymouth Reliant", "Dodge Aires", "Dodge Neon". When you press return after the third and final list item, another double pound sign will appear. To get rid of it, click on the second button on the bottom button bar once more. This will remove the pound signs. You page should now look like this:
